I spend probably 80-90% glassing of my time glassing. You can't kill what you can't see! Let your eyes do the walking for you! Put your glass on a tripod and pick apart the area by gridding. You'll be surprised what you pick up when you slow down and grid! My optics are my prized possession as my choices will show you!

I do day hints and pack a lot of animals out a year. I'm carrying enough water and first aid kits for my hunters. My pack needs to be able to handle weight and be comfortable at the same time.

I hunt out of cabins and a camp trailer so my camping gear is minimal.
Food is huge while hunting! Keeping your energy up while glassing, hunting, and packing out is a must to stay out in the mountains longer.

I think a lot of people underestimate clothing as part of gear while hunting and hunting out west good clothing is a must to stay in the field longer to be successful. Learning to layer your clothing correctly will make you warmer and more comfortable in the field. Below are the pieces I bring on every hunt with me whether that be September or November because you never know when the weather will turn for the worst.
My luck hat!

Your firearm/bow need to be apart of you. Practice a lot with them and know every detail about them to help you be more successful in the field!
