I chose and continue to use the following gear not based on popularity or status but because each passed my test of whether it gave me a measurable advantage on the mountain. Some are simple and inexpensive and some are not. Price really doesn't get factored into my gear it's more about functionality, durability, and benefit of use. This list is ever-changing just like yours. I'll update as I find things that work better for me.
I use the Sitka Gear Bino Bivy which unfortunately has been discontinued but is now replaced by the Mountain Optics Harness.
Swarovski BTX 65 and ATX 95
The gear in this section has changed a lot over the years but this is where I'm at currently. Been using the same stuff for the past 5 years or so and don't see anything out there that is making me question these choices.
I've used many different brands and have settled on these for now.
All of these products have functioned well for me for years and continue to still.
Food on hunts is important. Flavor, volume and variety are probably most important to me. Peak is my go to on trips that require lightweight options.
I made the switch to First Lite about 5 years ago and have never regretted a purchase yet.
I use them all and love them.
I built my rifle for myself but also for client hunters who may need to use it.
