Pursuing a rutting bull elk through the dark timber of the Utah mountains can be the most exhilarating thing you have ever experienced in your life. It can also be one of the most mentally and physically challenging things you have ever done. I have been hunting elk and deer in southern Utah my whole life. I have guided elk hunters for 6 years now and it's one of the most satisfying things I've ever done. Accessories
Calling for elk is a very effective way to locate a herd of elk. My choice of call is a Wayne Carlton fighting cow call and Phelps mouth reeds and bugle tube.
Camping Equipment
I use a Montana Canvas wall tent. It is perfect to be able to get out of the weather after hunting and get warm by the wood-burning stove on those wet cold days.
