Description
The "Riptide" is owned and operated by Capt. William Smith. "Capt. Smitty" has worked on party boats in the Bay Area for over 40 years, has been a licensed captain for 32 years, and has been involved in Half Moon Bay fishing for the past 27 years. Much of his time in Half Moon Bay has been with Capt. John's "Blue Horizon," as well as other boats, including the three "cat boats" – the Huli Cat, Top Cat, and Pogie Cat.
Capt. Smitty's Riptide Sportfishing specializes in providing personalized attention to individuals and small groups. His enthusiasm for fishing makes your trip memorable. The F/V Riptide is a 40' fiberglass hull, equipped with turbo diesel, state-of-the art electronics, and is licensed and inspected by the United States Coast Guard. Seasoned fishermen in the Bay Area will know the vessel as the New Mary S. Riptide is located on "H" dock at Pillar Pt. Harbor in El Granada (near Half Moon Bay), California.

Salmon Charter (does not include license or tackle) Weekday charters first 12 passengers: $ 1188 $1224 ($99 each additional person) Weekend charters first 15 passengers: $1485 (cash) $1530 (credit) ($99 each additional person) For charters a 50% deposit is required to hold reservation Check in time is 5:00 am AT THE Shop (ALWAYS VERIFY YOUR TIME, Trips return between 1 and 3 PM)
Tuna Charter (in season) (does not include license or tackle) Tuna charters up to 6 passengers: $1800 For charters a 50% deposit is required to hold reservation Check in time is 4 am AT THE BOAT (ALWAYS VERIFY YOUR TIME)
Rod Rental Tackle and license ( Available on board the boat) Rod rental is $10 per person Basic tackle kit is $12 -$14 per person One Day License is $15.12 per person
Fish cleaning Salmon are cleaned on board, free of charge. Rockfish and tuna can be cleaned for you for a nominal charge.
Terms & Conditions
Riptide Sportfishing reserves the right to cancel or change trips. Trips may be canceled due to insufficient sign ups. Deposit returns will be made by check and mailed. Cancellation of reservations requires 72 hours for groups of 4 or less. For groups of 5 or more 10 days. For groups of 5 or more a 50% deposit is required. Balance is due on date of trip. Charter cancellations require 10 days Cancellations require verbal confirmation and cancellation id# Cancellation due to weather is at the discretion of the Captain only Children must be at least 7 years of age and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. School groups/scout groups/private parties - children must have written permission from parent or legal guardian.
