Description

Guided moose hunts in Maine from remote comfortable wall tent camps. Late September/early October is peak rutting season. Hunting moose is much like hunting turkey and elk when it comes to calling and interactions. What a thrill as a trophy bull moose responds to the call. Expect opportunities on bulls 40″-50″ with some bulls going over 50″. We have a high success rate on guided moose hunts going 12 for 14 over the past 2 seasons. This will be our 4th season working for lodges that won permits through a special drawing in January. What is Provided: 1 on 1 guide, meals, transportation, quartering, packing out, caping your moose for amount, deboning your meat and loading it into coolers for travel (ice provided). Note: Must NOT have had a Maine moose permit during the 3 previous seasons to be eligible for this hunt.

What to Expect

This is a peak rut hunt, expect shot opportunities on bulls 15-75 yards. Guides who are very passionate about your success. top notch accommodations, meals, well organized camp & hot water on demand.

Gear & Equipment

( ) Gun (size 270 or larger) ( ) Small comfortable book bag or similar small hunting pack to leave in the truck and for longer spot n stalks to carry water, rain coat, extra layers, etc. ( ) Sleeping Bag (0 degree F. or warmer sleeping bag if you get cold easy, a couple extra blankets). ( ) Quality rain coat & rain pants (Choose camo and a type of rain gear made for hunting that is QUIET when going through the brush, remember, a moose's best defense it hearing and smelling) ( ) 2 Warm fleece or wool tops for cool/cold weather. ( ) Hunting jacket (camo and QUIET MATERIAL) ( ) Hunting boots, lace up made of leather or synthetic, similar to a hiking shoe but higher cut, a separate pair from you rubber boots...you'll not want to wear your rubber boots all day as your feet will become clammy) NOTE: Complete packing list sent after signing up.

Pricing Details

$18,000 which includes the cost of the permit ($1500) , North Maine Woods day use and camping fees. Does not cover taking your moose to a butcher and having it processed and wrapped if you choose to. (approx. $500).

Terms & Conditions

Reservation Payment Agreement for Lodge Tag Permit & Hunt between Canoe the Wild and hunter. 1st payment of $6000.00 due to secure the hunt, 2nd Payment of $6000.00 due 90 days prior to the hunt, the balance and final payment of $6000.00 due: August 26, 2022, 30 days prior to the hunt In the event we do not receive your 2nd payment on time, your payment and hunt will be forfeited and the permit & hunt will be sold to another hunter. In the event we do not receive your 3rd and final payment 30 days prior to the hunt, your payments and hunt will be forfeited and the permit & hunt sold to another hunter.

Camp/Accommodations

You're hunting party will have their own private Cabela's Alaknak 12' x 12' outfitter tent with heavy duty cots, sleep pads, carpet flooring, table and chairs, lantern, wood stove (well stocked).

Physical Requirements

We prefer to get on foot to spot n stock for your moose but we'll adjust the hunt based on the physical abilities and desire. We have a team that will come and help pack out your moose.

Permit & Tag Application Process

Once we receive your deposit, you'll need to purchase a Maine big game hunting license (bow is extra add on) prior to submitting your information to the state for the permit.
