Experience a true North Carolina wild bird hunt with our guided Woodcock hunts, based out of Wilmington,NC. Picture yourself exploring stunning NC landscapes, from Loblolly, Slash Pine and long leaf pine Plantations to Floodplain Forest, alongside experienced guides and expert bird dogs, chasing Woodcock.

What to Expect

We do not target but do tend to come across other Wild upland Game birds when woodcock hunting. We ask that you be respectful of declining wild populations and only take birds on the covey rise and ZERO flock shooting.

Gear & Equipment

Here is the list of items you are definitely going to need:

• Any Gauge break action shotgun (autos and pumps are allowed but dogs may look at you funny)
• ammo
• Game bag
• Water proof boots that you are comfortable walking 4-10 miles in.
• Change of socks
• Briar pants are recommended but not required.
• Appropriate clothing for weather
• Blaze orange hat (nc law)
• Hearing and eye protection
• Personal dogs are allowed as long as they get along well with other dogs and honor another dog on point. ( I understand this is a great chance to take a dog out to get wild bird experience) If you would like to use this as a training opportunity, your dog needs to be woah broke and wear an E collar.
• Brid cleaning for no additional fee

Weapon Details

Any gauge shotgun is appropriate but we prefer you to have a break action shotgun.

Terms & Conditions

Payment Information

• Hunt Packages are non-refundable
• Packages booked within 15 days of the hunt must be paid fully at the time of booking
• No credit cards. Cash, Cash app, Venmo and checks only

Cancellation Policy

• No rain checks unless schedule permits
• Cancelled hunts are not refunded, but a replacement may be found

Gratuities

• Customary, but not required
• Guides: 15-20% of the hunt price

Camp/Accommodations

Camping done on public game lands. Outfitters style canvas wall tents provided as well as food and drinks. sleeping bags, cots, or mattress not provided.

Physical Requirements

Expect to walk 2-10 miles per hunt.
