A proficient fishing and hunting guide, Lopaka is a native Hawaiian, born and raised in Honokohau Valley on the northwest shore of Maui. For tens of generations, Lopaka and his family have lived off of the bounty that the mauka (mountain) and maikai (ocean) provide.
Growing up without running water or electricity, Lopaka learned at young age how to utilize the mountain and ocean to preserve perishables. He was taught that as long as you only take what you need and share the rest with your neighbor, food will be plentiful.
Lopaka is extremely proficient at finding food out of necessity and as a result his knowledge is superior when guiding guests for sport. One of the many definitions of Aloha is love. Lopaka shares his aloha with ohana (family and friends). He is excited to share his knowledge with you, along with what being Hawaiian and sharing aloha is all about.
