First hunting pack, first hunt, solo, so nothing to compare to besides what the Army strapped on my back for 20yrs.
Pros: The bag has a debatable weight compared to some other industries out there that you have to pay a house mortgage to afford one. A $$$$ bag that weighs 2 ounces with no meat in it is still heavy-heavy on your soul and your wallet 😎.
I believe with proper training, knowing your limits, this bag is phenomenal.
There is enough room for a three day camping at 10grand in Colorado with lows in the teens.
Enough straps to reconfigure to accommodate your likings. It is a tall bag so if you're short like me, train harder😅.
Cons: That rifle stow sack is horrible. It is set an angle/length that your rifle will stick out further than the pack. The straps are easily twisted to settle the rifle butt stock in. Recommendation: Increase the size of the side pockets to fit a rifle comfortably, (that is what I used).
Cons: Water tube hole was tight and not all drinking tubes can fit through.
Cons: The side zipper pocket for binoculars is too tight. When the pack is full, that pouch is useless.
Cons: Crossover straps around the bag is a decent idea but if the straps are longer by a few inches, more items can be secured using those two long straps.
Overall the bag beats every assault pack I have ever carried for two decades in the military for comfort and needs. Great price compared to buying a mansion on your back with no 🥩 . Training and learning any equipment can save some aches and money to buy other items.
Safe hunting and good luck 🇺🇸
