Overall I think the AlphaShield is a good investment though they are quite expensive. I used them while shooting shotguns and a few rifles with muzzle breaks and found the hearing protection adequate. I have used multiple sets of Walkers ear buds in the past and these are definitely an improvement, though I am not sure that they are worth the double or triple the price. I found that they excelled at; wind noise cancelling below 15 mph, amplification of "bird" sounds especially wing noise, and direction finding. At times I was frustrated with the ability to hear hunting partners voices. Overall I would buy these again, I wish that the Multi Species models were cheaper.
Used them in central Montana hunting sharpies, pheasants and huns on 6 outings.
