I tried out the universal wrist strap because I did not like the fit of the traditional buckle wrist straps, especially when wearing additional clothing layers during hunting season. I love the product--not just for hunting season, but year round. The nock that some folks make against the Universal fit release vs. a buckle is that one does not have the certainty with the BOA that one has with using the hole in a buckle release. I don't agree--I shoot my bow year round, in temps from single digits to 100+. You can't tell me that a buckle wrist strap does not fit and feel different when you're drenched with sweat shooting in 90 degrees temps vs shooting on an air- conditioned indoor range--the additional heat and sweat make the buckle strap slide a little further down your wrist and press into your hand. Additionally, I believe optimal fit of a wrist strap is every bit as subjective as draw length on a bow--there are those who get better accuracy with a 1/4 inch adjustment vs. the standard 1/2 inch adjustment. Most buckle straps I've seen only offer 1/2 in adjustment. The Universal fit allows you to adjust your release based on the pressure on your wrist--if you shoot your bow a couple times each week, you will quickly figure out what the "sweet spot" is to tighten down the Universal fit. Only issue I've had is the first Universal fit I bought did break after 2.5 years, where the button pushes down into the plastic. The plastic anchor system cracked. The release still locked into place, but the plastic base was separating from the fabric and had some extra give. This failure was not catastrophic, I finished the practice session and swapped out the strap when I got home.
