Mission Rover 45 is a great pack

I love this pack. I had a 2 week trip from Italy to Germany planned and I wanted to pack light and fast to hop planes and trains as necessary. I knew I may have some long walks from train stations to hotels and possibly a hiking trip with nowhere to store my luggage so I wanted a carry-on-legal sized bag that had shoulder straps and a waist strap that could handle actual long hiking. I researched bags for hours. This pack fit all my requirements and excelled in everything I asked of it. The split-shell design I thought would be a con when I ordered it turned out to be a plus since it gave more organization options in the same space and less depth to dig through if I couldn't remember where I put things. The external shoe/dirty clothes pouch is great. It is not waterproof but water resistant enough that I didn't worry about walking a mile through a rain storm in Florence to get to my hotel. The straps (shoulder, waist, and chest) are really high quality and I feel with the waist strap on I could hike any mountain trail with it. The straps can be stowed for planes and trains and the heavy duty material is easily wiped clean from nasty train floors instead of common canvas or nylon pack material. It has a detachable (very quick and strong connection) duffle-bag strap that turned out to be useful when carrying two bags (my camera bag or my wife's carry-on). The only "problem" I had with it is the zippers were so big and smoothly operating I worried about them coming loose or someone trying to gain access during the inevitable crowded moments. I ended up tying square knots in the paracord-type zipper extensions it has but would recommend at least 3 tiny locks or carabiners to put through the zipper-lock eyes that are there for that purpose. I would use this bag as a hiking bag any day if i needed to. External cinch straps for light loads would be a potential improvement but that would also take away from the sleek/clean design.
