To say I was excited for it was an understatement. My wife did not share my excitement until she saw the price and now wants all my hunting gear to be purchased through Guidefitter.
For the budget friendly outfitter, this spotting scope is for you whether you are glassing high up over Elk country or the flats looking at Antelope and spending the day shooting lead down at the gun range.
Pros for this scope are the price point; the 60mm and 80mm are the same price. The 60 comes in lighter - perfect for packing in when weight is a factor. Very easy to operate with the magnification or the focus, the sun guard at the front keeps the glare off you and from spooking game. Also the swivel feature is nice for a window mount or sitting using a tripod. The quality of glass is nice again for the price. And I can't say enough about Vortex's warranty and the way it's leading the other brands who are just now catching up to their standards.
The cons would be it's hard to stare through for a long period of time and doesn't have a micro adjustment like its higher end brothers. The objective size is gonna bring in less light than the straight or the 80mm but I haven't had a problem in that department. Also would recommend getting the Neoprene cover for it.
So wrapping this up, I would recommend this scope to the high country hunters who are wanting a small yet powerful spotter, or the gun range shooter wanting a trusted piece of glass without breaking the bank.
This was taken using the Phone Skope attachment at 1400 yards.
Again using Phone Skope a lil over 1000 yards.
