My Favorite Desert Hunting Shoe

Altras are hands down my favorite hunting shoes, very very lightweight. These ones here are the Long Peak All Weather. I really like the All Weather ones because I walk through a lot of small streams and mud and stuff and they'll keep my feet dry. I have both, the All-Weather and the non All Weather. My feet sweat just a little but in the All-Weather, but what I do to combat that is I just keep some foot powder on hand. I use just a little bit of powder every morning before I go and my feet remain one hundred percent dry.

Updated After 1 Month of Use:

The tread is still really really good after one month worth of use and I go from all this rugged nasty sandstone style rock to dirt and mud up elk hunting so I'm hitting a lot of different terrain. I'm hitting a lot of the lowland stuff but also a lot of the highland stuff and that's a month worth of use right there, they're looking real good. They are so so grippy on the sandstone rock and just any terrain. I should've kept track of miles but I did not. I would say hundred miles at least or so, probably a lot more. I usually get a season and a half out of them I would say. I have another pair of Altras from last season that I'll use if I'm gonna just go beat the heck out of them, like I do the first part of the spring. Overall, the Altra Lone Peak All Weathers are freaking awesome.

Updated After 2 Months of Use:

We are two months into the hunting season and they are definitely starting to get a little bit of wear and tear, but this is the type of terrain all the way from the desert to the pine covered mountains to this nasty nasty rocky stuff. After two months in, I would say they're looking pretty good still. So comfortable you can't even feel it when you're wearing them.
