The sierra 703 medium fast spinning rod is a nice rod with good sensitivity for the price point. It is light weight and will handle big fish. I caught a 15 pound blue cat with it and the rod handled the fight with no problems. It will also handle those small finesse baits like a ned rig or dropshot with ease. It is a nice looking rod, fit and finish is very good. The only thing I don't like about it is I wish it had cork forward of the reel seat nut. I prefer my hand more forward of the reel. This is a personal preference and in no way takes away from the capabilities of the rod. I fish from a kayak and I really like the little shorter handle. It is a little more compact and allows me to handle the rod more easily, but it still has plenty of handle to maintain good leverage while fighting the big ones. If you are considering a sierra, I don't think you will be disappointed with it at all.
