I field tested my new Eberlestock Recon bino harness along with the added bear spray pouch and hand warmers on a spring scouting trip in Wyoming.
I found the harness to be very secure and functional. It is sturdy and quiet.
I don't like the fact the chest straps are too long to adjust snuggly on my thin chest. I wish there was a bit more adjustment to snug down when just wearing a base layer. I also had issues with the internal straps that connect to the binos coming disconnected.
Overall, I like and recommend this set-up. I made my own minor modifications to correct the issues I noted above.
I was able to cover a lot of ground during this trip and never felt concerned about my expensive binos falling out. The harness is comfortable to carry heavy RF binos all day in the mountains.
Scouting mission.
The Recon harness felt very comfortable ascending and descending mountain slopes.
