I bought this tent to use for a mid-October Idaho mule deer hunt. I chose it for the 3+ season protection and relatively light-weight. Also, I wanted a 2 person tent because I am 6'9", 265 lbs and I wanted to have plenty of room to get gear out of the weather.
When it arrived it proved to be easy to set up, and fit into my pack. I wish it was about a pound lighter, but the piece of mind that it would hold up to rain and snow was worth the extra weight to me. I also wish it came with more/better stakes. But it's too easy to get some aftermarket stakes, so it's not a major complaint.
During my hunt I found out that it just pitches a little better with some extra stakes for the fly. It was just long enough for me to lay across, without my feet and head pressing into the walls too much. And the vestibule had just enough room for my pack and boots. It would have been very cramped with two grown men in there, but doable in a pinch.
We experienced some pretty heavy winds on our first night, gusting well above 30 mph and the tent held up great. It was solid, and with the fly properly staked out it barely flapped. I was very comfortable, while my buddy was riding the storm out in his REI special, trying not to blow away.
This tent was perfect for what I needed it for. I would highly recommend it as a single person shelter during mid-season hunts where inclement weather is a good possibility. It would also be comfortable for earlier hunts due to the well-designed zippered mesh windows, although I personally would rather save a pound or two use a tarp and bivvy in August and September.
