I love the idea of a trail camera that sends me pictures. I have 5 of these cameras and 3 of the Micro-Links. I use them on whitetail properties for hunting and guiding.
The good: they do send pictures and it's nice to see them in the app. You get alerts throughout the day at set times that you create for pictures to come through. I also can be on my couch changing settings through the app and it communicates with my cameras hours away and it instantly makes the changes.
The bad: the cameras need system upgrades of technology. The SPYPOINT camera and app will not notify you if you need a new update and instead your camera will just stop working. You will also go look through the app and will see that the system has stopped communicating but you still have battery power and service which is very frustrating.
The ugly: I have five of these cameras yet only two of them continue to work. I have reached out to customer service multiple times and every time it takes days, if not a week to get a response and the response is a few words stating you need an upgrade of software. Click here. I will go through all of the upgrades follow all the procedures and half the time the cameras will not communicate anymore. At this point after three years I have tossed two of my five cameras in the trash because SPYPOINT will not do any work with them and pretty much at this point they are deemed useless.
