The advertisement for the Black Hole Crossbow 16 target from FeraDyne Outdoors says it stops arrows up to 400+ fps. I usually do a thorough job reviewing products before I buy, but I was in a hurry to sight-in a Ravin R29 (which shoots 430 fps). I have a Rinehart 18-1 target, and I like it for my vertical bow, but it's too tough to pull out an arrow shot into it with a fast crossbow. I typically try to read reviews and speak to people who actually used a product I am interested in purchasing--I did neither here. I read the "400+" and trusted the manufacturer. On my initial shot and every shot afterward (up to 50 yards so far) I have buried the arrows to where I just can see the tip of the nock. I know it won't be long before I just shoot right through this thing. What a waste.
I'm not happy with this purchase. I'm having to improvise with other backings to try to stop the arrows from going through. Now I am seeing other reviews and speaking to people who have had the same experience I've had. Unless your crossbow is real slow, I'd say stay away from this one.
