The Diamondback 12x50 binoculars are clear, crisp, and durable. The glass is crisp and bright with an easy focus knob. The rubber coating provides great grip and quiet body. I live and guide In northern Minnesota. I also hunt elk and pronghorn in Colorado and Montana. I primarily use these for western hunting in open country. I also own the Diamondback 10x42 binoculars for my all purpose glass. I have not been nervous to punish these binoculars on the dash of the truck or side by side, crawling over rocks or shooting prone with them on my chest. Knowing there is a VIP warranty and modest price of the glass puts my mind at ease if anything were to happen to the them. Vortex has great customer service and is responsive to answer all questions. The eye cups have been prone to come off of adjustment while in the bino harness. I would look to upgrade to the Viper or Razor for all day glassing if your hunting western states or open country.
