I wanted to like the Red Mountain Waterproof Snake Boot from Rocky Boots but there is one design flaw that makes them absolutely unwearable. There is a considerably thick wrap around the support section in the heel/ankle area that for some reason ends just below the ankle bones. This means any flexing inwards of either side of the boot causes this support material to dig into your ankles while hiking or walking. My ankle bones were absolutely destroyed despite me trying to stretch out this part and widen it before wearing them. The boots are thick, supportive, and easy to get into and lace up. But I can't get over the design flaw.
