A good hunting buddy runs Avian X decoys exclusively, and we've put out spreads of 120+ ducks -- mallards, pintail, and wigeon mostly since that's the mix we see at a local wildlife area. I copied him and sold all my other decoys to start a collection of these.
I loved my Dakotas, but the Avian X are lighter so make more sense for the long pack-in walks we encounter. I typically duck hunt fast, flexible, and tight waters here in Oregon. The "backwater" mallards are perfect for that.
It's also useful to buy these Avian sets in 6-packs instead of twelve since doing it that way gets you 4 drakes per 6 instead of 3!
