I have used bow slings for many years. I have had a love/hate relationship with most of them. I have used the UL Bow Sling from Badlands this past season, the Sitka version for a couple seasons before. If they could just blend these two, it would be perfect.
I love the Badlands version and I'm done with the Sitka sling. The big reason, I can't tell you how many times my bow has fallen out of the Sitka sling. That is unacceptable, huge design flaw! That where the Badlands UL Bow Sling shines! Super secure, because they have a strap (safety buckle) that attaches to the sling, goes around the handle of the bow and buckles on the other side. Awesome! No chance of the bow falling out while walking through thick, heavy brush, riding a bike, climbing a tree, whatever you do, it's secure. It protects your cams and string very well and is nice and tight on the bow with an adjustable draw string. The shoulder strap is adjustable, strong and secure.
Just wish it had a couple of extra features that would make this sling, perfect! I have an expensive sight system on my bow and I wish it had a cover for it, to help protect it from all the harsh conditions and trails I put it through on my hunts. The sling is packaged in a thin pouch that you could put on your sight to help protect it. I did that for a while, but it's not tethered to the sling and I miss placed it a couple of times. So I stopped using it. Along those lines, I also wish it had a tethered pouch with a draw string to cover/protect my fletching on my arrows for the same reason. That's where the Sitka bow sling excels. It has tethered pouches for your sight and fletching. It even has pockets in the sling to stuff them in, if you don't want to use them. Which is brilliant. But again my bow wouldn't stay in in that sling, so it's worthless, to me. I will continue to use the Badlands UL Bow Sling because it preforms so much better, but it's just shy of "Perfect". It could be better at protecting my other equipment attached to the bow (sight/fletching) for those rough trips into my stand, and protecting it from those times I'm carrying my climbing method and stand/Platform attached to my pack.
Overall, I still do highly recommend the Badlands UL Bow Sling, just wish they'd consult me before they mass produce their gear... LOL.
