I bought this Calor Jacket from Badlands to be my cold-weather jacket for the rifle season here in Colorado. It can get pretty cold up in the high country of the Colorado Rockies, so I knew I would need some good gear. After reading some reviews I decided to give the Calor Gear a try, and I am so glad I did. I wore it the first day of my hunt, but I got overheated really quick so I had to take it off. I kept sweating on the way to my spot and kept it off a while. Soon I got chilled so I put it back on. The chill soon went away. When the sun came up the next day, I had to take the coat off pretty quick because I soon got overheated again. But when I really needed this coat a few days later when the temp dropped to the teens and the wind chill was single digits, I stayed nice and toasty. I sat there for hours and didn't get cold. And the dryer I stayed in my base layers, the warmer I stayed in this coat. I sweat a lot so I have to swap out base layers sometimes that is why I say that. But like I said when I got chilled I put on this coat and the chill went away. The material of the jacket is durable too, snags on trees and limbs don't even phase it. It can't be ripped. I put it to the test this first season wearing Badlands gear, I won't wear anything else ever again. I know this stuff will last for years. I am so happy I decided to go with Badlands. My friends who I went hunting with were looking at my gear and asking me all kinds of questions about it, and I even noticed them going to their phones to look it up or make a note to search for it online when we got service on our phones next. Buy Badlands, you won't be disappointed. This 2X size fit a little snug for me. I was wearing a base layer, long-sleeve shirt, and lightweight hoody in layers also, so I could strip off or add to if I needed. Could be a bit bigger like a 3X if you're a big guy. but I could only go up to 2X on the Guidfitter site. So I may get the Pyre 3X with a hood. The Calor is a great coat too though I had a hoody hood I put up over a beanie and was just fine. Plus I put an orange vest over the jacket so the snugness didn't bother me.
