I needed to replace my old sleeping bag, and wanted something that would pack down small for backpack hunts while still being warm enough in the winter in New Zealand. I've so far used the NEMO Kayu on two tahr hunts in Nz. The first a fly in trip, we had the tent in a spot that never defrosted during the day due to being in the shade, four nights, two of which I came back to the tent fairly wet and I warmed up quick in the sleeping bag and was warm all night with no extra clothes on. I'm normally a cold sleeper but I was very impressed with it. The second a walk in tahr hunt on the west coast of Nz roughly 25km walk in so weight and space was a real focus for the trip. The Kayu packs down very small and the bag it comes in has compression straps. 7 days and a 12.5 year old bull tahr down with the bow on the 5th day. Overall I was very impressed with the bag and would definitely recommend it, very well designed and compact light and warm, the ideal bag for what i do.
