Started using onX maps elite membership in 2018. I was one of the last guys in the group I hunt with to switch over from traditional Garmin GPS. I did not want to learn a new product and add something else to worry about. However now two years later I have completely switched over to using and depending on onX through my phone for GPS, scouting new areas, and finding other hunters from sharing waypoints. This is by far my favorite tool/resource now. In the off season I geek out searching maps and looking at migration areas for species I'm planning to hunt and learn new areas. I do wish more states had migration and seasonal data for species though, that's the only down fall I've come across. These days everyone is so busy in life it's hard to scout as much as in the old days and definitely nothing is better for scouting then actually putting boot tracks down, however onX maps allows you to scout and get birds eye views and see land boundaries etc. in so many new areas. It's definitely a crucial tool to be successful to me and all the guys I hunt with. My favorite feature by far is having someone I'm trying to find send me a waypoint and me being able to click on it and find exactly how to find where they are even if I'm 10 states away.
