For the Money, these are hard to beat. They are a light Weight Compact binocular that offers value well above their price range. I have used these mostly in Indiana in heavy timber for Whitetail deer and in NM for looking at ducks, most of my glassing with these has been under 500 yards. (Most of it is inside of 200 yards).
The glass is great in low light for the price point, and it has the power to reach out and provide a good clear image to reasonable ranges.
I got to put these side by side to a Leupold (BX-4) and a Vortex (Vipers HD's) over the Holidays with my buddies. The Zeiss Terra's have the advantage in image, quality and color. They are all about the same for light gathering (at least with my eyes), but they may have a slight edge here but it is hard to tell. One of the buddies who we were comparing glass with we all thought our glass was the "Brightest" at low light, though there was a consensus on the Zeiss being the best color and clarity.
Ergonomics are great, I have mostly used these off-hand, they have a very forgiving field of view and depth of field. I also really like their rubberized coating. We had some cold morning where it was like a freezing fog and the binos were still nice and grippy.
These are Ideal if you need a utility pair of binos at a good price, that will last and perform well in 98% of applications.
I will also add that since these little guys are so light and take up almost no space, they have become my go-to duck blind binocular. Perfect for identifying the birds floating or flying down the river at 300 yards. These are almost a half lb lighter than my Maven B.2's in 11x45 and significantly shorter. (The Maven B.6's 12x50 are stubbier but still wider than the and longer than these as well.)
I would highly recommend these if you are looking for a great pair of binos at a reasonable price. Their value per money is outstanding. You just have to realize that these are not going to be the super long-range,big country monster glass you need for some of the smaller animals.
