This thing is Scary Accurate and So much Fun to shoot. We took it out of the Box and started sighting it in with the Garmin Xero Sight. This thing was shooting 3-inch groups at 70 yards off of a hot tub, not even a real rest. Then we shot at a deer size target at 100 yards and hit 3 for 3 in the vials.
(I don't plan on taking game at that range, but man this bow could do it, and it is fun to practice at that range!)
I didn't get the chronograph out to confirm the velocity, but it has to be right at the 450FPS mark like they advertise. This thing is flatter and has way less wind drift than the other crossbows I have shot.
It is lightweight and very easy to load and unload. I love the Cocking and Uncocking system. You can literally shoot it all day long. I am hoping to take it out to a buddy's farm this spring and try some long shots at 120 yards (On targets.)
My only complaint is that we had issues getting the arrows to properly seat at first. You really have to push them onto the string and it makes a loud Pop/click noise. The bow will NOT fire unless the arrow is securely clicked into place. We thought we didn't have the string pulled back fast enough so we somehow managed to strip the "Clutch" on the winding crank, so it would no longer bring the string back. We called Ravin's customer services and they were great. They walked us through fixing the crank (We just had to tighten the housing a quarter turn with a crescent wrench and it fixed the issue) we had so we could keep shooting and they got a new one sent out right away.
With the way, their cocking system works you don't want to go more than a 1/2 turn past where it sets. There is no audible set sound or click so you have to eyeball it. (Though with the "Broken/Modified" crank it does sort of bounce when you reach full cock on it.)
My other complaint, which is more a knit pick is that on the website than an actual issue with the bow is originally shown (On the thumbnail) with the RAVIN ADJUSTABLE TURRET SCOPE and the JACK PLATE ADJUSTABLE ELEVATION MOUNT.
The bow comes with just their standard 450 Scope (Like the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pictures show). This was not hugely disappointing to me because I put a Garmin X1I Crossbow sight on it. But if I would have just ordered it looking at the thumbnail and was expecting the cool multi-adjustable turret system and got the 450 scope I would have been annoyed.
I am still going to give this a 5/5 out of stars because the issues we had were operator errors, and Ravin went above and beyond to make sure we could fix the issue the same day so we could keep shooting.
(Also the Soft and Hard Cases are a must.) The hard case for going in the back of the truck or Side by side and the soft case for when you are storing it at camp or walking to the blind. They have pockets for every accessory, extra arrows, strings, broadheads, and batteries.)
This is the coolest crossbow I have ever owned or shot. It is crazy fast and Crazy Accurate. I can assure you if you are thinking about getting one of these do it. Also, their Targets will stop the 450fps arrows even at 10 yards.
