I use deer skin gloves as work gloves, for working with ropes, and just to keep my hands warm in moderately cold weather. I have for a long time used hardware-store deer skin gloves, and they work fine. These Boyt deer skin gloves are a step up from their hardware-store counterparts, in both materials and workmanship. The leather is consistent in thickness throughout, and appears to be free from even minor defects. They are probably too nice to wear for everyday use, but are comfortable and tough, so could be used for about anything. Even at Guidefitter prices, they are 3 times as expensive as hardware-store deer skin gloves, but are quite nice, so a good choice if you are looking for a high-end product.
