I've had several pairs of gaiters through the years, and most of worked reasonably well. I was in the market for a new pair in advance of an Alaska hunting trip, so decided to try out the Kenetrek gaiter. Compared to others I've had (Outdoor Research, REI), these gaiters are more substantial, and have some features that make them more weather tight. For example, there is a hook and loop connection over the lower part of the gaiter, that keeps the front opening closed at the bottom, and seems to also function to help keep the hooked attached to your boot laces. I've used them regularly this winter, and they have performed quite well. I was worried about the size, as my boot size (12) is at the cutoff between sizes. I ordered the recommended size, and it fit like it was supposed to.
