I just started waterfowl hunting this year. So, this review is from the perspective of someone with little experience with jerk rigs. That said, I've used it enough to shed a little light for those on the fence.
This has been super easy to use, very intuitive to set up, and relatively tangle-free. It's lightweight and doesn't make too much of a difference on long walk-ins (2+ miles). There's no manufacturer recommendation on weighting each of the 3 spreaders. On my first out, I used 12oz of weight on each spreader (3 oz/decoy). I typically run 4 oz weights on my Texas rigs and figured this would do the trick. This made the rig really heavy to pull and you could probably get away with a 5 oz weight on each spreader. I've run it with no weight and if you pull too quickly your ducks will try to flip over.
There's only one thing I'd change about this product and that's the bungee cord and crimp that comes on this out of the box. The bungee cord is thick and durable enough but, in my opinion, too hard to pole with 12 decoys clipped in. It certainly wouldn't stop you from bringing in ducks but if you're pulling this jerk rig for a few hours you'll be a little sore after. Additionally, I feel like a little more dynamic of a bungee cord would allow for an extra foot or two of decoy travel which would be excellent. The crimp on the bungee came off on the first use and quite frankly is better secured with a quick sinch and overhand knot.
All in all, this product is very user-friendly, durable enough, and allows you to capitalize on total movement much more than a single decoy jerk rig. If you're after a run and gun setup just bring one of the spreaders and run up to four decoys on the one spreader. Super versatile.
