I received my Ledlenser MH8 rechargeable headlamp during the Illinois turkey season and right as I started my scouting for coyote hunts. I was able to really put it through the paces over the last month, and overall, I'm VERY impressed. Excluding extreme circumstances, I suspect this will be the last headlamp I ever have to purchase.
Features I love:
-600 Lumens ( More than I could possibly need)
-Varying light intensity
-Variable beam focus
-Battery status indicator
-Magnetic charging system (Significantly better than the "plug in" style of charging that other headlamps use
-7 year warranty
-Portable protective charging case
Whether you're at home, hunting at night, or milling around camp, this lightweight, versatile headlamp is something that everyone should have at the ready.
This headlamp seems to be built entirely around convenience and ease of use. Extreme bright white light or dim colored light for discretion make this light functional in all kinds of settings. I used the brighter lights for animal recovery at night and the dimmer, colored lights for my walk through the woods before sunrise to get set up on a roosted turkey. Another useful feature is that the body itself is easily removed to be used as a handheld light.
The power case offers both protection and portability while charging, and is perfect for those extended stays in the dark. This will definitely be in my pack when I make my trip out west to hunt this year.
