6/5 to 3/5 stars...
I have been wearing the original preacher pant for years, and wore them to rags. Absolutely loved them. Tough, versatile, comfortable. I'm 6'3 and 205, with thicker than average thighs, and the originals fit perfectly, something that is usually impossible for me to say. From spring shed hunting trips through November deer/elk, these pants were my go to, side zips allow for dumping heat in the summer or while active in the cooler months, and there was just enough room to pair with a merino base layer when temps started to drop.
I was excited for the 2.0s. For the Tan color, it seemed much lighter, almost yellowish, wasn't a fan but that wasn't a deal breaker. But the fit. Why, oh why, King's, did you change the fit?! My normal 34x35 Talls went from perfect to skinny jean fit, but the waist was true. So I tried the 36x35 Talls. Legs fit better, but a bit baggy, and the waist was just too big. Cinched with a belt, the waist scrunched up with folds along the waistband, creating pressure points, which were absolute hell with a pack on.
In sum, pretty disappointed with the sizing change. Considering having the waist taken in by a seamstress, but again, more hassle to get it back to what the originals were... The ultimate all season outdoor pant...
If they fit you, this is an awesome pant. Unfortunately for me, not sure I'll continue to wear the 2.0s.
