I sent Leica a (perhaps buzzed) email in 2019 requesting an angle compensating 8x32 RF bino...they never responded to my email but this year responded with way more than I requested...They packed so much into such a little package. After a season with this unit I can say the following.
Pros:
Applied Ballistics, temperature/pressure/angle sensors, easy interface with app, can change wind angles/speed in the bino or the app, top tier glass, laser easily ranges targets to 1500yds, after that reflectivity and ambient conditions become more important but I have ranged targets at 2100yds. Readout cycles through angle compensated or line of sight yardage, then elevation drop (in MOA, Mil, Inches or clicks) then windage (same units). It cycles twice so if you dont quite get your info the first time, it pops up again. Bino readouts and the bullet library in the app has been spot on to my range max of 980yds, but if I happen to find a load where its not, the AB app has a trueing feature that recalculates your muzzle velocity based on measured drops at distance. It also has a muzzle velocity/temperature calibration feature to dial in even more.
Cons:
Its a heavier unit at 30oz and is about the same size as an SLC 10x42, and because the laser is in the front hinge, a center stud tripod attachment is not an option but aftermarket barrel clamps are available but are kind of wonky to use (unbalanced). The display readout could be brighter but is totally functionable and given how bright and clear the image is, ill take the slightly less bright readout. Also the readout is the older style original barred digital numbers (ie non LED) readout. The temperature sensor is SLOW to change to ambient conditions, and if you keep your binos in a chest rig, it will be warmer/colder than the ambient conditions and can take 15- 45 minutes to get to a more accurate temperature reading. The laser readout isnt as fast as the Sigs, but its by no means slow. The other negative is if you get a new phone, your bullet profiles will not transfer even as the app does.
Overall these binos have been outstanding and Leica really has stepped it up.
