I will start off by saying I own more than one truck as well as more than one pack. One of my packs that I like and use often is an Eberlestock so I ain't no brand hater. I never used or intended this pack as a day pack.
I purchased this pack as a load hauler. The idea was, 5 gallon jerry cans, firewood, Elk quarters, mule deer, woodstoves, loads of medicinal plants and roots. Read a review on Amazon where some guy carried all his gear in one of these in a Rubbermaid container. I thought "Wow, boned out Elk in a sterilized Rubbermaid plastic container, bitchen" I found the frame too narrow for all of these items, lateral shift was a problem. Lack of lash points didn't help. At this price point I was loath to start cutting into the pack. I do really like the fixed non-hinged shelf , also like that pack back is a flat surface, the material covering of said shelf appears to be very easy to clean.
Suspension was nice but the load seemed far from my spine making my center of gravity odd. I also purchased a J dry bag, my experience with customer service attempting to get another zipper keeper wasn't positive.(may get around to a review on that)
If the frame was wider by about 5 inches with some accessible lash points it would have been a keeper. The whole thing covered in a material that was easy to get blood off of would have knocked it out of the park.
