I recently returned from a Montana back country hunt and can testify to the superiority of this sleeping bag. I was given a list of items suggested by the outfitter. One of them was a -20 sleeping bag. I had spent a good deal of money preparing for this hunt and since I already had a 20 degree sleeping bag, I was wondering if this was a necessary purchase. After a lot of thinking, I decided to go ahead and buy this bag. It was one of the best decisions I made. The temperatures at night were in the single digits and teens. We had a SMALL wood stove in the tent, but that only kept it warm for a while and at night you had to struggle to keep the fire going. It always cooled off in the tent and was pretty firgid around 0300. This bag is heavy duty and weighs around 8 pounds. When you first get in, its a little cold, but in about 15 seconds, it feels like someone turned on the heat. I went to bed with socks, polyprophylene long underwear, and flannel pajama bottoms. Within 10 minutes I was pulling clothes off because I was about to sweat. This bag was an absolute necessity for my hunt. I HATE being cold! There were other hunters in camp that only brought a 32 degree bag and they were complaining of shivering all night even with down tops and bottoms on. If you are going to a location that possibly has very cold conditions, do yourself a favor and invest in a good cold weather sleeping bag. You will not regret that desicion and will be prepared for your next adventure. Thank you Browning and Guidefitter for excellent products at an excellent price.
