It took me a lot of reading to settle on these decoys. After using them in the field successfully, my dog swimming a downed duck as proof, I am very happy I selected Heyday.
Pros: the detail and paint is excellent. Without the weights in the keel they are very light and easy to carry. The wind keeps them moving better without the weight so if you water hunt only, take them out. If you field hunt I can see a use for it.
Cons: They are not cheap! You will spend some green. The screws holding the weights in are often cross threaded to the Chicago nut. If you don't use the weights not a biggy; if you take them in and out - problem. Pay attention when you throw them on the water for your spread to ensure they are not floating sideways. The advertising indicates with a Texas rig (which I use with 4' of line) all you need to do is toss them and they self correct; not so.
These deeks with a Texas rig is extremely fast, easy, quiet and realistic. I hunt on the Columbia River between OR and WA and this set up is very good.
