I used a friends Vortex Carbon-fiber tripod at a PRS match and I was hooked. It's so easy to adjust the height with a quick turn of the leg lock rings. The legs are extremely ridged and have supported every rifle or spotting scope I've put on it. The positions and configurations are limitless with how I was to position it, I can use it standing, kneeling, or sitting. It's light enough that when I'm moving I angle the rifle in line with the legs and carry it over my shoulder. My only complaint is there is a small eyelet on the side of the ball head to tether things to, but it's able to rotate and when you accidentally pass your hand over it the eyelet makes a little rattling sound. I just dropped a drop of bearing sleeve retainer on it and it's now fixed in place and doesn't rattle. The ball head takes a little to get used to with all the adjustments, but once you learn what knobs control which tension it's very simple. One last thing is be sure to tighten the set screw that locks the ball head to the tripod, if you don't and you like to spin while looking through an optic you can start to loosed the ball head on the tripod. Overall this is my favorite tripod out of all the ones I've used. You won't be disappointed with this setup. One word of wisdom though, you'll end up buying an ARCA rail adaptor for every rifle you have now because you'll find the tripod completely changes your options when shooting.
