So I have owned a Summit Viper Classic since 2010 and used it regularly. Awesome stand when I was a little bit younger. Had plenty of room and was extremely comfortable. But it was heavy and a bit noisy. So I figured it was time for an upgrade. Found out about this Openshot SD and since I mostly bow hunt and it seemed perfect for that I figured I would give it a try. When I received it, I honestly couldn't believe how light it was!! I was so impressed by its weight I literally called two of my buddies to tell them. Then I went immediately to a tree that I use to test my new stands. Was simple and quiet to put on the tree. Had plenty of room once on the stand, especially when I lifted the seat up and out of the way. You can lift the seat up for more room to stand or lean against the tree, or if you like to shoot sitting down, there's plenty of open room while sitting on its comfy, quiet, padded seat. The Climbing operation is simple enough. You just hold the top of frame where the cables come out (being sure not to put fingers where the release is) and put your forearms on the rest of the frame. Then sort of do a crunch action. The bottom action is the same as the other climbers. In closing, this stand is awesome. The whole stand weighs less the just half of the Classic Viper. I ordered this stand at the end of the season and haven't actually hunted from it yet, but I can't hardly wait until next season to tag one! Thanks Summit for an awesome stand!!
