Comfortable, not waterproof
Only worn a handful of times but have put on around 10 miles. Had zero break-in period and were comfortable out of the box. With that said, my pair was NOT waterproof. They are more like splash resistant. I was walking through a field to take down a treestand and had 50yd patch of 1-2 inch water I could not get around without going way out of my way. Plus my new boots are waterproof right? Nope After using every patch of grass I could find to keep out of the water I finally had to step in. Within 5 seconds my foot was soaked. Not a deal breaker as I purchased these for dry climate hunts anyway. Overall, I would reccomend these boots for hunts where water crossings will not be a common occurrence.

This boot was great in the beginning, but the life of the boot was short.
I was looking for a boot that I could wear everyday as well as on early season Antelope and Oryx hunts that would allow my feet to breath. I just happened to have a friend that will only wear Salewa boots and he recommended I give them a try. I have worn them every day since I bought them, I have tried different boots to fit my needs over the years and I am yet to find a boot with Gore-Tex that is as light, comfortable, and breathes like the Mountain Trainer. It is definitely the perfect early season boot. I did wear them in the snow to see how they performed and it was almost instantly clear I needed to wear a different boot the uninsulated Salewa is not meant for cold temps. Update: I wore these boots every day throughout the summer, I put a lot of miles on them, as they began show wear they became uncomfortable. Almost like they had become too small. I am let down at the short life span of the boot.
