I just wanted to get out of the house on a Sunday mid morning on April 14th. I was originally looking for hogs out of a tree stand (reason for the rifle). I stayed up there for a couple hours with no luck.. I got down, walked half a mile, and spotted him in a pasture 100yds away. First Buck in 10yrs and we (my family) haven't harvested one on Family (4th generation) land in over 20yrs! That's about as big as Florida deer get here in the wild with 0 management. Glad to be able to get in the woods on the last weekend of season. God is good!#deerhunting #buck #floridahunting #deerseason #308win #family #fathersonhunt ... Show more
Congrats buddy! But I'd have to disagree with you on that statement. There's plenty more bigger bucks in Florida. They just hard to find! Lol. I'm a Florida boy!
First Osceola Turkey was a big one. I was actually looking for Bambi's dad and found Big Tom looking at me through a Bushnell Scope. 75 yds with the Savage Arms 308, dropped and didn't move an inch. Good clean kill. Take care of the land and nature will provide for you. Thank God for such a beautiful bird.#huntingseason #tom #gobblerdown #floridahunting #turkeytime #brag #bragginwall ... Gary WhitbeckDon't get hooked into thinking high fence is AWAYS easy! Some high fence ranches r so large that you never see a fence. Unless you hunt public land your place may be smaller than the ones in Texas and other places. Hunting is hunting. Skills in hunting take a lifetime to learn, not on your first buck. But you did make a good shot on a nice buck.
