There are very few things in life as thrilling as hunting bugling elk in September. Cold mornings, aspen leaves changing color, and bugling elk are as good as it gets in the mountains of Utah. I've hunted elk for more than 30 years and have been a licensed guide for 7 of those years. Each year, new gear becomes available to help make the hunt more enjoyable and successful. The prime time of the elk rut hunt is the limited entry rifle elk hunt. I encourage my clients to use the best to make the shot count. Elk are big, tough animals and an accurate shot is extremely important.
