• Unit 15 - Trophy Elk Hunts: We hunt over 25000 acres of private ranches and with the help of New Mexico Game and Fish we can set our own hunt dates from September to December resulting in less hunters per week and more hunts with more trophy's. This unit is primitive weapons only. You may use either archery equipment or muzzleloaders only. Modern inline muzzleloaders with scopes and sabots are allowed. All of our ranches have planted rye fields and water tanks to keep trophy bulls plentiful.
All unit 15 tags will be guaranteed landowner tags that are issued by the state. We will send the tag forms to you in August. You must fill out all of your info. and submit your tag money directly to the New Mexico Game and Fish Dept. They will send the tag to you via mail. All tags are guaranteed NO DRAWINGS.

• Our Wyoming property located in Northeast Wyoming, just south of Gillette. We offer fully guided hunts for mule deer and antelope . Our hunts will be conducted on over 20, 000 private acres that have been managed for many years. We are also licensed to hunt thousands of acres of BLM and U.S. Forest Service Land. We hunt primarily on foot, spot and stalk, using 4-wheel drive outfits to access our vast country. We usually have one guide per two hunters. Local meat processing is available to cut and wrap your meat to take with you or ship it home. We also have a full time taxidermist on staff to mount your trophy of a lifetime. Hunters need to bring only personal gear (rifle, bow, binoculars etc.). A detailed list will be sent to you upon booking your hunt. We take great pride in producing successful hunts for our clients. If you hunt with us we will assure you a first class experience and 100% effort by our staff. We want you to leave 100% satisfied.

• This is a 5 day Spot and Stalk Hunt for Spring Black Bear, I have maintained a 50% Black Bear harvest. I would be 100%, But I Do Not shoot Small bears! I consider a 6' black bear and bigger a shooter, a 5'7" color phase bear and bigger a shooter. This area has the highest Black Bear population in Montana, with 1.4 bears per Sq. mile, with a regional harvest of 50% on color phase bears. Though the Spring Black bear season opens on April 15th I do not offer hunts till May 1st do to the possibility of the lack of green up earlier in the season. Clients usually see from 11 to 16 bears on this 5 day hunt.

Each hunter/hunters will be given their own farm/farms to hunt on, for their entire time while hunting at Backwoods Whitetails. It is basically like having your own Illinois hunting lease for a week that has been consistently monitored with several trail cams and where there is a guide to help you with understanding the current deer activities. Hunters can start from one of our preset stands that we have already set in prime & proven locations and serious hunters will enjoy knowing that they also have the total freedom to move on their own to succeed, while still having the assistance of a guide.
