Colorado • The hunts are conducted from 4-wheel drive trucks and on foot. We have a full-time packer/wrangler and horses to transport your kill to camp. We can make arrangements for care of your trophy and meat upon your request. These hunts are conducted from our cabin facilities on the Uncompahgre National Forest in units 61 and 62. The Uncompahgre Plateau is producing numerous trophy bulls for our clients each year. Our base camp consists of very comfy cabin accommodations with propane heat, lights, and hot showers. We utilize 3 cabins for sleeping and 1 for central dining. Our camp cook is excellent and everyone looks forward to his down-home meals.

Owner, Walt Isenhour, has over 30 years experience pursuing trophy bull elk and has identified the area just north of the Vermejo Park and Hill Ranch as a key area for harvesting bulls of the highest quality. Our hunters have taken 46 bulls scoring over 320 since 2004 with the largest bull, a massive 7 x 7 scoring 366, topping the list. This area is truly blessed with one of the most productive flocks of Merriam's turkey in southern Colorado. It is quite common to see 50 to 100 turkeys per day while hunting, with many Toms in groups of 5 to 10. These birds are not call shy, due to the lack of hunting pressure on private lands, and make an exciting hunt. Colorado offers both spring and fall turkey seasons and we offer hunts in both seasons.

We have a good population of Mule deer in our area, and the trophy quality gets better every year. This hunt precedes the whitetail hunts and takes place in the early weeks of November as the mature Mule deer bucks move into the herds early. We will hunt Mule deer mainly by spot and stalk, as well as field hunting. Two Elk/Deer combo hunts are available during September 17th to 28th.
