COUES DEER
Hermosillo • Commonly named as the " Gray Ghost" the Coues deer lives in the rugged mountains of North Central Mexico. Our 5 day Coues deer hunts take place in the rolling hills of the Sonoran Desert during the months of December and January. All hunts are fair chase tracking on foot by a previous transportation in 4 x 4 vehicles up to the hunting area. Once a trophy buck is located by glassing them, the "spot and stalk" method is used to get within shooting range, but when trail or water ponds are heavily used, a ground blind is a very good option to harvest a nice buck. We get every year a good amount of trophy bucks scoring over the 120" SCI mark. Our professional guides know perfectly the behavior of the bucks in the area and will do anything for you to have the best experience in Mexico. We hunt in 2 locations, Sonora and Chihuahua.
CARMEN MOUNTAIN WHITETAIL
Múzquiz • We hunt this subspecies of whitetail deer in the Sierra del Burro, part of the Carmen mountains, in the northern state of Coahuila, Mexico, endemic land of the Carminis deer. We provide high success 4 day hunts in fantastic mountain landscape, great accommodations and unique personal service. The Carmen Mountain is smaller than most of the whitetail in North America and weights up to 120 lbs. making this a tough task to find them behind a rock or bush. The color of its coat matches perfectly with his habitat, making this a great camouflage. His great character and the fantastic hunting area around the oaks and pine trees, makes this a unique hunting experience. This Mexican deer is one of the 5 new subspecies eligible for the SCI Record Book. The hunts take place during December and January. You need to fly into Monterrey International Airport and drive 6 hours to camp or take a charter flight. We have had 100% success rate on trophy bucks, since business inception.
Sage Valley Outfitting
Archery mule deer northern zoneStarting from $5,000
Alberta, Canada • This hunt takes place in our northern zone. A mix of brushy cattle pastures in hilly terrain and open agricultural fields makes a bow hunt challenging, but exciting! Expect to see 30-40 deer on any given day, with a shooter buck being considered 165" or better - unless the antlers have distinguishing characteristics such as non-typical or drop tines. This is not an extremely demanding hunt physically - we are normally able to locate deer within a mile of the truck. Weather can vary dramatically - from 90+ degrees in the early season, to -15 in a late season hunt. We will inform you within a week of the hunt date of what weather conditions are called for, and you can pack gear accordingly. Accommodations are small, but cozy and fully equipped cabins on the shore of scenic Fox Lake. You will get weekly updates starting in July from pre-season scouting, including photos of shooter deer found, weather conditions and any other information relevant to your hunt.
Whitetail deer - add onStarting from $1,750
Alberta, Canada • Whitetails are normally added on as a secondary species to our mule deer hunts. Typically, we would hunt mule deer, and if we tag out early, we can take a trip to town to secure a tag for a whitetail. Alternatively, a whitetail license can be added to a mule deer hunt, enabling the client the opportunity to harvest a whitetail at any time during the hunt. Hunts are primarily conducted from tree stands or ground blinds, although drives or "nudges" can be productive in some areas of the zone.
