Our goal is to provide a once-in-a-lifetime hunt and to develop lasting relationships with every client. The hunting lodge is set up to accommodate large groups, small groups, and everything in-between. Most of the hunts will take place in a ground blind set up on a food plot. Hunts are fully guided and last for three days. This gives hunters plenty of time to see some great deer and beautiful scenery. The guides will track, field dress, and cape the deer for hunters. We have several fully stocked ponds; so guided fishing tours will be included in each package.

Private land allows us to control both the number of hunters and the number of elk harvested, helping to maintain a quality elk herd. All hunts are conducted in a spot and stalk manner. You will be driven to the various hunting areas in 4 x 4 pickups and then continue on foot, accompanied by one of our experienced guides. All Guides live in the Chama area where they are able to observe the elk year round. Colorado, United States • Just across the boarder in Southern Colorado Fishtail Ranch is outfitting Elk and Mule Deer Hunts in the Rio Grande National Forest units 80, 81 & 82. Fully guided hunts as well as Self Guided Drop camps are available. This is a real wilderness experience in excellent elk hunting areas. We pack you and your gear in by horseback 2 to 6 hours beyond the nearest vehicle access point, to hunt well beyond most of the public land hunters. Our camps are by special forest service permit and fully equipped for Archery, Muzzleloader and Rifle Seasons. Both draw and over the counter seasons are available.

Kentucky, United States • Upland bird hunts provide an experience that is difficult to match in the outdoors. You'll have numerous encounters and multiple challenges while combing our carefully managed bird fields. Our coveys of native quail are supplemented with our own flight-conditioned, raised birds. Our pen-raised birds are exposed to the absolute minimum amount of human contact and are reared in extra-large pens with native feed to mimic a natural, wild habitat.

Wolf Creek • MONTANA DEER & ELK COMBO-This hunt takes place on the Blacktail Ranch just outside of Wolf Creek, MT. The Blacktail Ranch is an 8,000-acre family-owned ranch located where the mountains meet the prairie, at the base of the East Front of the Continental Divide. We also have other adjoining ranches that we hunt. We have excellent mule deer hunts for bucks that average 22" to 24" with an occasional 26" to 28". We have several large ranches leased for these hunts. We also have some bird hunting on these same ranches for sharptails, pheasants, prairie chickens, and blue grouse. Antelope combination with Elk and Deer in archery season or in the first two weeks of rifle season. We hunt on several different ranches for Antelope. We have leased several great ranches for our whitetail hunters. These ranches have different accommodations. Anything from an old ranch house where the hunters cook for themselves to a modern lodge style with a cook.

Montana, United States • We have excellent mule deer hunts for bucks that average 22" to 24" with an occasional 26" to 28". We have several large ranches leased for these hunts. We also have some bird hunting on these same ranches for sharptails, pheasants, prairie chickens, and blue grouse. If you would like to add another big game animal, pronghorn antelope may be added to this hunt.

Maine • We run baits in order to have a starting spot to release the hounds. We run cameras to find the freshest track possible and to avoid running smaller bear or sows with cubs, "which sometimes still happens no matter what we do". Once the dogs are on the bear and the chase is on we use top of line garmin equipment to stay in the chase and keep track of our hounds. We sometimes kill the bear crossing the road or bayed up on the ground or treed. No matter how we dispatch the bear it's the most intense hunt you will take part in.. We also do offer bear over bait for smaller sized groups. 3-4 hunters for a week. Reach out and we can chat.

California • The mountain quail is the most challenging hunt, this bird lives in the mountainous chaparral west of the Rockies a 30 minute drive to your destination from Red Rank ranch you will listen at daylight for the call of the mountain quail more often heard than seen you will travel the back roads in hopes to get a crack at one of these elusive birds. Chukar partridge offer a unique challenge for hunters because of their innate running ability and attributes that allow them to climb a steep embankment. These heartily birds tend to flush and fly for a short distance and then attempt quick-footed escapes, making for a lively chase. We offer walk-up pheasant hunts, but with a twist. Our quality pheasants are lean fliers that burst the cover and make multiple flights to safety. Their squawks startle hunters a field, breaking the tranquil atmosphere. We require a minimum of two shooters.

Colorado • Steamboat Lake Outfitters is a year-round, full-time professional hunting and outfitting organization, specializing in fully guided Base Camp hunts, Zirkel wilderness hunts, or drop camps. The state of Colorado is divided into Game Management Units. Steamboat Lake Outfitters has Bureau of Land Management and United States Forest Service Permits that allow us to outfit on a number of different units. Game Management Units include GMU #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #14, #211, #214, #131, #201, #301, and #441. Summit County Outfitters is licensed and registered with the state of Colorado. Our hunting unit is located in Colorado GMU 371 and 37, which is an over the counter unit with exceptions for muzzle loader and first rifle seasons. The muzzle loading season will require you to draw for a tag in April and generally requires anywhere from none to two preference points.
