The special archery whitetail hunting lease is in an area that's closed to rifle hunting which results in quality bow hunting for whitetail. Many hunters also get chances at small game hunting for coyote, badger, fox, or upland birds during their big game hunts.

• All you can see is miles of sand hills covered by sagebrush and plum thickets rolling alongside fields of sunflowers, milo, wheat, millet, and wild prairie grass. Suddenly off to your right the bird dog comes to a screeching halt- head stretched out, tail stiff, muscles quivering- a perfect point!
As you begin walking toward the dog, your blood pressure begins to rise with anticipation...which way is the covey going to fly? Your heart stops as 25 quail explode from the plum thicket! You pick a quail veering off to the left. You shoot he folds. You swing on a second quail as another covey of quail emerges not 30 yards in front of you...mass confusion. The excitement upland bird hunting brings can only be experienced.This is not an uncommon scene in western Oklahoma where quail hunting is great. The terrain, which contains some of the best natural habitat, in combination with the agriculture crops makes this area a quail hunters paradise.

• Deer - The south side has much of the same with more brushy cover and a joining acres of wheat, alfalfa, and milo fields. The are no through roads and only 2 access roads to the ranch. This makes a nice refuge in deer paradise. The ranch has been leased to one person for fifteen years taking only 4 to a maximum of 6 bucks per year. We started guiding hunts last year with great success. We are doing limited hunts on the ranch so call and book early. We also have another 30,000 acres leased for deer hunting.
Turkey - We have our 12,000 acre ranch plus another 35,000 acres for our turkey hunting guide service here in Oklahoma. This Oklahoma land is in small tracts of 1.500 acres to 160 acres pastures and farm land. All this land is located in Harper, Beaver, Ellis, Woodward counties, in Northwest Oklahoma.

• Your physical capabilities can be matched to the type of hunting and terrain that will give you a good hunt. Handicapped hunters can enjoy success in some of our areas. Hunting is done by using 4x4 trucks for transportation. Some hunting is done in walk-in areas.
When a hunt is booked with Billingsley Ranch Outfitters, we can program the hunt in several different ways. Deer species can be hunted in a combination with antelope. A bird hunt or fishing trip can be added as a side trip. After successfully bagging your big game, you are welcome to hunt birds, varmints, or coyotes for the remainder of your stay.

• Upland bird season opens September 1. We hunt Sharp Tail grouse, Sage chickens, Pheasants and Hungarian partridge. Doves are also here in the early part of the season. Sage chickens can be hunted close to the ranch on public lands. Pheasants are mostly on private land. You are welcome to bring your bird dog as kennels are available at the ranch. We offer year round coyote hunts, praire dog and gopher hunts in summer and fall. We now also offer in our region a mountain lion hunt.

• Bear hunts last four days. We will be hunting on old logging roads with numerous berry patches in the area. Hunting open hillsides with rocks, coming out of orchards and covering country are how we pursue these animals. Hunting starts the beginning of August and runs through the first part of October. Early in the season it can be pretty hot, so most of the hunting will be done early in the morning and just before dark.
Deer - Nobody has to battle the deer hunting crowds on public land where 1 in 10 hunters successfully find a legal buck. We guarentee you'll find a buck you'll want to shoot.
Turkey hunts last three days. If you have never experienced the rush of a big Tom gobbler running into your calling, you are missing out! This is very similar to elk coming into your calls. You hear them gobbling and getting closer, then all of a sudden, they appear right in front of you.

Hunting out of established blinds, laydown blinds along the river and private ponds are our areas for hunting these great birds.
Goose - Hunting over Green Head gear decoys and experience callers continues to be uncrowded and exciting as we shoot from camouflaged pit blinds, lay-down blinds and the ever famous "snow box."
