Villisca • It is no secret that Iowa is the place to come for monster bucks. We are fortunate to have a lot of quality bucks and a large deer herd in our area. The chance to shoot a world class buck on your stay at Southwest Iowa Outfitters will be very high. We scout year round and have many tree stands set up in strategic locations throughout our properties. We do all the scouting from scouting deer activity, setting trail cameras, and looking for shed antlers. Iowa is not only known for having big bucks, it is also known for having big turkeys. The heaviest eastern wild turkey weighed just under 36 lbs and was killed in Southwest Iowa only about 40 minutes away from our lodge! The biggest turkey that we have taken weighed just over 27 lbs. Beards over 12 inches and spurs up to 2 inches are also not uncommon in southwest Iowa.

Iowa & Missouri Waterfowl Hunts

Iowa, United States • When people think of hunting waterfowl they usually think of Canada or Arkansas. However, from personal experience we think that Iowa is one of the greatest places to hunt ducks and geese. We are located in the Mississippi flyway with a lot of ducks, snow geese, canada geese, and some specks moving through. We also have a lot of local canada geese in our area that decoy easily. We have a lot of farm ponds with blinds on them. We also have a private wetland that is located only 4 miles away from a waterfowl/wildlife refuge area. This wetland includes a flooded cornfield with 2 roomy pit blinds. This wetland also has a generator that is connected to aerators located in the water in front of the blind so the water never freezes up around the decoys. (see pics of wetland below) We also have access to a 700 acre public hunting lake. This lake has about 40 acres of flooded timber that is outstanding for duck hunting.

Alaska • Join us at our home in the Wilderness of Alaska! We operate two traplines. One is located in the Nowitna River area, where we also offer Fall moose/grizzly hunts. Our traplines are truly remote. In winter, we get to and from our traplines by airplane, and travel along our 250 miles of hand cut trails and along frozen rivers using both dog teams and snowmachines. We trap primarily Wolf, Wolverine, Lynx, Fox, Marten, and Beaver. Depending on your interest, you may wish to come in the early Winter to help us set out our traps, open up 'line cabins, and set up tent camps along our many trails. Learn the processes of skinning, stretching, and drying quality furs, the source of our trapline income. Hop on the runners of one of our homemade dog sleds behind a team of dogs. You may also want to come in the Spring, when we begin to snap our marten and lynx traps for the season, and focus more of our energy on Wolf, Wolverine, and Beaver, whose seasons continue into April.

Idaho • Wolf hunts are definitely one of the more exciting hunts we offer. We have been interacting with these magnificent animals for a long time here in the Selway, and in our opinion, these hunts have been long overdue. These big game predators have had no fear of anyone until now and that adds up to a dangerous animal. We have lost loyal dogs and even a beloved mule to these animals. Now the table has turned, and for the best, so come book a wolf hunt with Richie Outfitters. A good time to hunt them is during winter lion season. Pigeye Outfitters

Montana, United States • Our upland season begins here in central Montana on September 1st and runs through the end of the year. I seldom take hunters after the end of November due to the possibility of adverse weather. We offer combination hunts for a number of different species, which include the Hungarian partridges, sharptail grouse, mountain grouse, (including both blue and ruffed), ring neck pheasant and limited sage grouse. All our birds are from wild populations. Expert guides, knowledgeable of the areas and certified by the state will accompany you on all hunts. Two hunters per guide is normal, although other special arrangements can be made. These hunts do require a fair amount of walking, but we will tailor each hunt to the abilities and limitations of the hunter. For those of you that may want to include an antelope in a hunt, we offer a combination upland bird and antelope hunt. Since both inhabit the same approximate areas we can hunt them at the same time.

Elk, Deer, Bear, Antelope Hunts

Montana, United States • At Pigeye Outfitters we offer specialized Big Game hunts for both archery and rifle for elk, whitetail and mule deer, antelope, and black bear. The elk/deer rifle season begins the last week in October and runs for 5 weeks ending the weekend following Thanksgiving. The archery season begins the first weekend in September and ends the first weekend in October. These hunts are geared to each individual's preferences and limitations. As with our upland hunts, we offer our hunts to a small number of guests at one time, 2 to 6. The Little Belt Mountains have a good population of black bears. What sets these bears apart from those in other areas is that there is a large number of other colors such as cinnamon and blonds. The spring season is April 15 to May 31. Montana offers a guaranteed elk/deer combination license for those who choose to hire an outfitter. This license also includes fishing and upland bird licenses.

Montana • Sun Canyon Lodge and Outfitting in north-central Montana is nestled in the Rocky Mountain Front with the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex at our back door. You are able to access our Lodge by road or fly into Great Falls and we will come and pick you up. We have three back-country camps that are accessed by horseback. Our main elk camps are located six to eight hours into the Wilderness. Once there, you will be staying in very comfortable tent camps. The sleeping tents are 14 foot by 16 foot, equipped with cots and wood stoves. Family style meals will be prepared in a well furnished mess tent that is separate from all sleeping tents. Our mule deer camp is located seven miles into the Lewis and Clark National Forest. This camp is also set up similar to the Wilderness elk hunting camps. All three camps are set up early enabling them to be established and ready to go when you get here.

Bear Lane Guide Service

Maine, United States • The Guide Service is based on a commitment to quality hunts and personalized service. The number of hunters per week is limited to insure you a great hunting experience. Hunting takes place in the "Down East" section of Washington Count Maine. The area is made up of blueberry barrens, spruce, pine, fir forest, (thick) hardwoods, lakes, rivers, streams and swamps. The season normally starts the last Monday in August through the third week in September. Hunting will be in the afternoon unless you are dog hunting. Your bear hunt consists of five days hunting and six nights lodging. Cabins are made up of singles and doubles. Each has its own heater shower, toilet and sink. A full breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the dining hall. The dinner hall is conveniently located next to the cabins. (If you go hungry it's your own fault!) Arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart Saturday morning.

Georgia, United States • Your quail hunt will be conducted in towering Georgia pines in the midst of wiregrass, broom sedge, native grass savannahs, quail food plots, and fields of native grasses and forbs. All from our custom built bird buggies. You will be accompanied by our professional hunting guides and well-trained bird dogs. Food and drinks are always close at hand. Here at RoseAllen Plantation we don't use hunting courses we use the whole plantation. We do everything possible to have doves year round.
